Solid Wild Tuna in Olive Oil - 2.3oz

I like to use canned tuna on top of salad as a quick lunch. Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil is now my new go to tuna! It tastes very fresh compared to other canned tunas. And the olive oil adds so much flavor to the tuna and makes a perfect dressing for the salad as well. I do think that the tuna is a bit too salty for my tastes and and wish it had less sodium. But that is the only thing I would change about this tuna. I also enjoy the individually-portioned, easy to open cans and will definitely be purchasing this tuna again for it's flavor and great value.

I recently had a chance to try the Rio Mare Solid Light Wild Tuna in Olive Oil through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I eat canned tuna occasionally for lunches, but it's usually kind that needs to be drained which I find a little gross and annoying. The Rio tuna is used right from the can - so easy!

I used the tuna in my two favorite ways - in a salad and a wrap. I try to stay low carb so the salad had mixed greens, kale, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumber, sunflower seeds and a balsamic dressing. It was delicious. The wrap had greens, some Greek yogurt and the tuna. I like the texture of the tuna and especially that it isn't too dry.

Will definitely look for it in the store, and the price seems very reasonable for this quality of tuna!

I'm usually a "whichever tuna is on sale in the biggest can" kind of buyer, which means I've tried lots of tuna brands over the years. Tuna in water or oil, I'll eat and enjoy both. But because I've never noticed it in my neighborhood grocery store, I'd never tried the Rio Mare until now. I've tried it on crackers with fresh herbs, with mayo in a tuna fish sandwich, and on salads. I"m so glad I gave it a try because this really is a lovely and refined canned tuna! The olive oil it's packed in gives it a subtle but elevated flavor. And having each can individually marked with the method of catch for the fish is such a helpful thing to know as a consumer. I tried the Rio Mare this time because it was provided through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. But now that I've tried it I'd definitely seek it out to buy in the future. It's pricier than the tuna I buy in bulk but I'll choose this over other brands when I want the tuna to take center stage in my recipes! Definitely recommend.

I recieved this Tuna as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. This Tuna was great as a snack. It was easy to open and since you didn't need to drain the oil it was super convenient. The Tuna did leave a oily aftertaste in your mouth and the tuna felt a little cheap but other than that it was good. I enjoyed eating the entire 3 containers that came in the pack. I also really enjoyed the easy open that allowed you to take this snack on the go.

The Rio Mare tuna was a phenomenal flavor and texture from the oil. It wasn't mushy and remained to have a firmer texture than most canned tunas. I loved that it had a fresher flavor and it wasn't reminiscent of cat food. The oil gave it a tiny bit of a saltier flavor which added to the taste as well. Overall I'd definitely select this brand again moving forward over the competition! Thumbs up for stellar product testing for my new go to tuna salad tuna go to brand!
